Overview
Who this is for:
This entry-level program is designed for any person who wants to become a trainer and assessor but who currently:
- Doesn’t work in an RTO as a trainer and assessor
- Doesn’t have experience as a trainer and assessor in the VET industry
If you want to become a trainer for the first time to share your existing skills and knowledge with people entering or upskilling in your industry, then this is the perfect program for you!
By the time you graduate, you’ll be able to confidently deliver and assess accredited training, conduct face-to-face and online assessments, and participate in validation activities. While you may not know exactly what that means, we promise you will by the time you finish.
Note: If you currently (or used to) work as a Trainer and Assessor and/or have a Certificate in Training and Assessment that is no longer valid, check out our RPL pathway.
Entry Requirements:
To start this qualification, you must show you have skills and experience in the industry area you want to teach and assess within. This means you should be a bit of an expert in the topics you plan to teach. The evidence required includes having a relevant resume, position description or industry qualification as appropriate.
Job Opportunities:
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) Trainer (TAFE, Private, Enterprise)
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) Assessor
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) Teacher (if you’re already a secondary school teacher, check out the TAESS00024 - VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set instead).
